Artist Search Music App
A Vue 3 single-page app that searches the iTunes API by artist and lets users filter, sort, favorite, and play 30-second track previews.
Search any artist to pull real tracks from the iTunes catalog, then filter, sort, and play previews.
What I built
- Queried the iTunes Search API with axios and normalized results, filling in placeholders for missing text, prices, and artwork.
- Derived genre filter buttons from the result set and combined multi-select genre filtering with sorting by collection name, price, or original order using computed properties.
- Built an audio player with play and pause, random next track, repeat, a volume slider, and a progress bar fed by timeupdate events, attaching and detaching listeners when the track changes.
- Added a recent-search dropdown (last 5, deduplicated case-insensitively, removable on hover) and a favorites sidebar with hover controls and scrolling marquee titles.
